GAB owes its origins to Dr James Birren, a psychologist and gerontologist, who developed this system of life story work over 40 years ago. This is writing from the heart and doesn't require any literary skill. Life stories are written and shared in a small respectful group setting where everyone is equal. Questions, writing prompts and exercises are used to evoke memory and inspire the act of writing.
